Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome (PFPS):
Also known as Jumper’s Knee or Runner’s Knee, PFPS is generally caused by improper tracking of the patella tendon over the kneecap, causing an overuse injury to the tendons.
It usually occurs with an increase in the valgus angle from the knee to the hip (“knocked knees”).
Muscle imbalances of the quadriceps, hamstrings and glutes contribute to the knee position, while poor foot mechanics negatively affect the balance and arch function assisting the knee position from the ground up.
Active Alignment Treatment Options:
- Custom Foot Orthotics
- Knee Bracing with patella support
- KS7 Compression Sleeve
- Therapeutic Footwear
